Founders, it's hard to stay mission focussed
As a founder, you need to have multiple hats on, often even at the same time. You start the day as a strategist, turn into an engineer around noon, a coach during lunch, a fire fighter early afternoon, and a legal litigator in the evening. The consequence: You loose focus on your mission.
Most people work on the wrong thing.
The symptoms are easy to spot. You spend your time in lots of meetings, lots of events and conferences, lots of check box ticking in your todo list .... But if you are honest, you also will notice: You have done a lot, but achieved little.
If you are an employee at a huge company it doesn't really matter. You could spend your whole working life being busy and accomplishing little.* No wonder most outcome in any bigger organisation is generated by just a fraction (the square root) of its employees. What a waste of resources!
As founders, you cannot afford to waste your time and energy on things that don't matter. You have to proof that you have the right team tackling the right job to be done.
However, getting all things right to survive, let alone succeed, is almost impossible. Experienced founders and investors advise to focus on just one thing you do really well (increasing your likelihood of survival) while avoiding repeating known mistakes (decreasing your likelihood to fail). One of the biggest, known mistakes is not tackling road blockers first.
cozama identifies the right priorities. First, it helps you define your purpose. It links your purpose with the results you need to proof your purpose, i.e., customers that love your product. Second, cozama keeps you focussed on activities that play into your strengths and are most likely to generate outcome.
cozama identifies road blockers so you can tackle them head on based on your activities. Road blockers are areas that are not delivering the expected results. In this sense, it is the better OKR tool. It knows what you really need and want. It helps you say no to the many things you could do so you can work confidently on the right priority -- building products people love.
To sum it up, cozama is for founders focussing on a job to be done that brings value to the customer first, all others second. It is for the right founders building the right things, for the right people, for the right reasons.
Are you the right founder? It's time to proof it!
